Singer and songwriter Cynthia Soares will take the stage at the Mbenga Live Session this Thursday, May 28th, at 7 pm, at the Radio Mozambique (RM) Auditorium Studio in Maputo, for "Cynthia Soares: The Concert".

Born in Maputo, Cynthia Soares began her musical journey in 2021, collaborating with rapper Kluivert and producer Hélio Beatz. Since then, she has explored sounds ranging from R&B to Pandza and Afrobeat, drawing inspiration from artists such as Sara Tavares, Daniel Caesar, and Banda Kakana.
In 2023, she released the single "Distance" and the EP "Etapas", also presenting the track "Ainda Tens Efeito", featuring Lenox Cambula. In 2024, she released the EP "Txau Pra Nunca", produced by Empowerhermusic. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with Nephew, Badjero, Kindanatural, and Kamane, among others.
"Going on stage at the Mbenga Live Session is a moment of affirmation and sharing for me. I will present a repertoire that spans my EPs, singles, and unreleased tracks, with the certainty that Mozambican music deserves spaces like this—intimate, serious, and with a sense of public engagement", said Cynthia Soares.
The artist has performed on stages such as the Afro Jazz Encounter, where she performed with Jimmy Dludlu, and regularly participates in the biannual concerts of the UEM Choir and Orchestra.
The concert is part of the 2026 season of the Mbenga Live Session, a project of the Mbenga Arts and Reflections Platform in partnership with Rádio Cidade, which has hosted names such as Shelcia Mac, Nephew 258, Ivan Manyike, The Rosee, and Yadah Angel.
"The Mbenga Live Session has established itself as a space for discovering and valuing new Mozambican music. Cynthia Soares represents a generation of artists who combine sensitivity, technique, and awareness of their time. Rádio Cidade is proud to broadcast this show and bring her music to the whole country", declared a representative of the station.
Admission is free and the performance will be broadcast live on Rádio Cidade 97.9 FM.
