Mozambican filmmaker Elvis João Jucundo is among the 20 young graduates of the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) at the Southern Africa Academy, whose graduation ceremony took place at the Italian-Zambican Cultural Center in Lusaka.
Jucundo achieves this milestone with considerable recognition, having won first place in the short film competition at the Mozambican-German Cultural Center with his film "Catharsis".
The MTF's intensive training covered areas such as directing, production, cinematography, screenwriting, and editing, complemented by mentorship from industry professionals and participation in real productions. The program is developed in partnership with the University of Zambia, ensuring a strong link between theory and practice.
According to the executive director of MultiChoice Zambia, Avaress Ndhlovu Chella, the graduates enter the market prepared to strengthen the creative sector and bring African stories to a global audience.
