One hundred young Mozambicans will benefit from job opportunities in Portugal, in the transport sector, as part of a joint initiative by the governments of Mozambique and Portugal, aimed at promoting labor mobility and expanding professional integration opportunities for young people.
The initiative aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the area of employment, through the creation of mechanisms that facilitate access for young Mozambicans to the Portuguese labor market, while promoting professional qualification and skills development.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Caifadine Manasse, encouraged the selected young people to take advantage of this opportunity to gain professional experience, deepen their technical knowledge, and represent the country with responsibility and dedication.
“This is an opportunity for them to grow professionally and demonstrate their abilities,” the minister emphasized.
Caifadine Manasse in Maputo, after a meeting he held with the Portuguese Deputy Secretary of State for Labor, Adriano Rafael Moreira, during which both parties analyzed mechanisms to strengthen labor mobility between the two countries.
On that occasion, Adriano Rafael Moreira stated that Portugal welcomes young Mozambican workers at a time when the country is experiencing significant growth in employability levels.
According to the government official, the integration of these professionals represents an opportunity for mutual benefit, allowing the country to meet the needs of the Portuguese labor market and, simultaneously, provide young Mozambicans with better prospects for professional development.
The selection of the one hundred beneficiaries resulted from a competitive process that included more than 700 candidates, highlighting the high interest of Mozambican youth in employment opportunities abroad.
The expectation is that this initiative will be an important step in strengthening cooperation between Mozambique and Portugal in the area of employment and vocational training, potentially paving the way for new labor mobility programs aimed at young Mozambicans.
