The event, which runs until June 19th, features a diverse program with a wide range of artistic, academic, and institutional events designed to deepen mutual understanding, encourage creative exchange, and strengthen the historical, cultural, and human ties that unite the two countries and their peoples.

The initiative is part of the celebrations of World Portuguese Language Day, May 5th, and Portugal Day, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, June 10th.

Over several weeks, the program of this first edition of the Month of Portugal in Mozambique will promote dialogue between Portuguese and Mozambican cultural expressions, highlighting the importance of sharing values, knowledge, and experiences as a driving force for rapprochement between the Portuguese and Mozambican communities.

The program is distinguished by the diversity of initiatives and the strong network of partnerships established with academic institutions, civil society organizations, companies, cultural agents, artists, and business associations, and also counts on the support of numerous collaborators.

Thus, on World Portuguese Language Day, this program began with a meeting on the theme "Didactics of the Portuguese Language in Multilingual Contexts - Challenges and Potentialities" at Eduardo Mondlane University, followed by the launch of the book "O Peixe Grande" at the Portuguese School of Mozambique and finally a concert by the artist Cuca Roseta, with special participation by Stewart Sukuma and the Mafalala Tufo Group.
