Some secrets of samba, a musical genre and dance with Afro-Brazilian roots, will be shared on Saturday (21) at the Guimarães Rosa Institute, in Maputo, in a workshop to be led by Professor Ana Rosa.

In the samba workshop, Ana Rosa will present basic techniques to develop dance skills and enjoy this contagious Brazilian rhythm, born in the early 20th century, mainly in Rio de Janeiro, from Bahian traditions (samba de roda).
Samba is considered an intangible cultural heritage of Brazil and a national symbol. It is characterized by percussion instruments, guitar and cavaquinho, with a syncopated rhythm.
