This is "a significant achievement for Mozambique and an important step forward for the protection of biodiversity on the African continent," reacted the PNAM.

Maputo National Park (PNAM), located in the Matutuine district, in the extreme south of the country, has just been included on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List.
The announcement was recently made by the organization's Cultural Heritage Committee, aiming to highlight the rich marine and coastal ecosystems found in this transboundary conservation area between Mozambique, South Africa, and Eswatini.
This is "a significant achievement for Mozambique and an important step forward for the protection of biodiversity on the African continent," PNAM responded on its Facebook page.
As Maputo National Park itself describes itself, it offers a scenic combination of plains, marshes, grasslands, mountain ranges, and coastal dune forests along beaches of fine white sand and a turquoise sea.
As the welcome notes state, Maputo National Park is home to a constantly growing and diversifying wildlife, with rare and endangered species. It is one of the most remarkable areas of biodiversity in the world.
Equipped with several campsites and accommodations, the park offers an exceptional experience of contemplation and relaxation, a pristine and unforgettable space for a day or a longer stay.
