The exhibition "Comings and Goings" is the result of work developed by four 5th-year students from the Escola Superior de Artes da Réunion, who, as part of the colloquium "Forms and Memories of Mozambique and Réunion: crossed and parallel stories", went on a study trip to Maputo at the end of 2024.
This trip allowed them to deepen their knowledge of Ricardo Rangel's photographic archive, preserved at the Documentation and Photographic Training Centre of Mozambique (CDFF), an institution he founded.
From a corpus of over two thousand digitized images, they selected a series of 49 photographs that form the core of this exhibition, whose curatorship seeks to establish a dialogue between the visual memories of Mozambique and the contemporary vision of these young artists.
After its initial presentation in Réunion, the exhibition will be inaugurated in Maputo on July 8, at the Franco-Mozambican Cultural Centre (CCFM), where it will be open to the public until August 4.
