Mozambique, a country of rich cultural diversity and stunning landscapes, is emerging as a unique tourist destination in Africa. Recently, the magazine 'MozaVibe' had the privilege of speaking with Sávio the Traveler, a young Mozambican who works and enjoys himself as a tour guide.

He is an ambassador and founder of the travel agency Discovering Mozambique. His passion for tourism stems from a transformative trip to Barcelona, Spain. During the conversation with 'MozaVibe,' Sávio shared his passionate vision about Mozambique's tourism potential and spoke about the mission of making visitors' experiences more informed, accessible, and sustainable.

In recalling the trip to Barcelona, the guide highlighted how that experience opened his eyes to the crucial role of tourism in the economic and cultural development of a country.

In discussing tourism in Mozambique, he emphasized the need to improve access to information for visitors, for example, by creating strategic tourist information centers where tourists can easily gather information to explore the country. This action will attract more tourists and ensure more enriching experiences.

Sávio advocates for the 'marriage' of education and tourism. The idea is to take students to experience natural wonders such as bays, mountains, and monuments up close, to foster a lasting love for environmental preservation and local history.

This approach can enrich the experience of young Mozambicans and shape the next generation of conscious citizens.

Another essential aspect addressed by the guide was the desire to improve tourism policies in Mozambique. Sávio believes that well-managed tourism can boost the economy and promote sustainable practices such as regulations to prohibit alcohol consumption and incentives for environmental preservation. These measures not only preserve the natural environment but also promote collective responsibility among local residents and visitors.

The guide also highlighted the importance of environmental responsibility by the population to preserve national natural resources. He emphasized the need to improve transportation systems to ensure that tourists can easily move between destinations. Furthermore, Sávio believes that improving infrastructure is crucial to ensuring safe and memorable tourist experiences.

To 'MozaVibe,' the guide spoke of his passion for gastronomy and more. 'We have so many beaches that it's hard to talk about all of them, but I can mention a few like Bazaruto, Vilanculo, Ponta do Ouro, Tofo, Zalala, and Wimbe. As for landscapes, we have the Gorongosa National Park, the Quirimbas and Bazaruto archipelagos, which are highly visited by tourists. As for gastronomy, it would be difficult to select the best dishes, but tourists should try a little bit of everything.

Sávio reiterated that Mozambique is a complete destination with extraordinary landscapes, paradisiacal islands, rich marine life, various water sports options, unique traditions, architecture, music, dance, painting, literature, and poetry.
