Maputo Cathedral hosted two concerts on 2 and 3 November to celebrate the 10th anniversary of MUSIARTE and the 23rd Week of the Italian Language in the World, presented by the Italian embassies and the Agostino Steffani Conservatory - Castelfranco, Veneto.<\/p>\r\n

On the first day, the theme of the event was \"Music and Sustainability\", with the participation of a new generation of young musicians from MUSIARTE, teachers and other guests.<\/p>\r\n

Composers such as Ludwig Beethoven, Niccol\u00f2 Paganini, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Robert Schumann, Pablo Sarasate, Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Chopin, Jules Massenet, Damiano Lazzaron, Gioachino Rossini, Negros Spiritual, Friedrich Kuhlau, Muzio Clementi and traditional African songs were performed.<\/p>\r\n

The second day saw the presentation of Gioachino Rossini's \"La petite Messe Solennelle\", performed by Stella Mendon\u00e7a, soprano; S\u00f3nia Mocumbi, Loud ; Tim\u00f3teo J\u00fanior, tenor; Otto Maidi, bass and the Ensemble VOCALIS, (MUSIARTE's resident choir); Geoffrey Gallagher, piano; J\u00e9ssica Urte, organ under the direction of Daminano Lazzaron.<\/p>\r\n

In a message, the MusiArte Foundation - Conservatory of Music and Dramatic Art, speaks of \"focusing on impact and sustainability\" and emphasises its mission to \"educate and qualify people in the field of music to be critical, creative, responsible citizens capable of acting to transform society\".<\/p>\r\n

\"We want to expand and reaffirm our commitment to working unwaveringly in quality music education, promoting the social inclusion of young people and children in Mozambique, leaving an indelible mark in the cultural and music education fields.<\/p>\r\n

With passion and determination, our impact stories of our triumphs and joys, as well as the many lessons we have learnt from facing adversity in the field of music education have only been possible with the constant presence of students, parents, educators, teachers, collaborators and committed partners.\"<\/p>\r\n

In its message, MUSIARTE talks about lives impacted by its projects, \"through employability, training and cultural experience\".<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Founded in 2013 by Mozambican lyric singers Stella Mendon\u00e7a and S\u00f3nia Mocumbi, the MUSIARTE Conservatory of Music and Dramatic Art, the only one of its kind in Mozambique, has become a benchmark in the field of music education. Initially, MUSIARTE was integrated into the activities of SON\u00c7A International, a non-profit social enterprise NGO. In 2021 it became a non-profit foundation dedicated to vocational education in the field of music with social inclusion. This journey was and is possible with the collaboration of parents, students, teachers, partners and friends who have joined our cultural cause.<\/p>\r\n
