Operating since 2003, the Higher School of Hospitality and Tourism of Inhambane (ESHTI) is an arm of Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), whose creation was conceived within the framework of the operationalization of UEM's strategic plan (1999-2003).<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n

According to the aforementioned strategic operational plan of UEM (Eduardo Mondlane University), the university should focus on increasing the number of students admitted to the institution, as well as initiating the process of introducing new university courses in other areas of knowledge.<\/p>\r\n

When it began its activities, ESHTI (School of Health and Technology of Eduardo Mondlane) introduced a degree in Tourism, with semester-long subjects and two professional pathways: the first is Tourism Planning and the second is Tourism Information and Animation.<\/p>\r\n

Over time, as ESHTI itself writes, the institution introduced a degree in Hotel Management, before starting the Evening Management course in 2008, whose demanding training meant it lasted five years.<\/p>\r\n

ESHTI explains that in 2009 it initiated a curricular reform process, which culminated in the disintegration of the previous degree in Tourism, giving rise to three new degree courses, namely Tourism Animation, Tourism Information, and Tourism Market Management.<\/p>\r\n
