Juvenal Bucuane launches his book of short stories this Thursday at 5:30 PM at the Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo. Entitled \u201cThere\u2019s always a tail sticking out and other stories,\u201d the work will be presented by academic Louren\u00e7o do Ros\u00e1rio.<\/p>\r\n

Comprising thirteen short stories, the book primarily addresses the issue of rural exodus, which brought in its baggage not only people seeking to improve their lives and those of their families in the cities, but also their customs and traditions, which were passed on to their companions.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n

According to the author, \"these and other linguistic practices have become established and are called, I don't know if rightly or wrongly: Mozambican Portuguese, and today there is an effort to legitimize it scientifically. Informal language is already science, it already enters into the evaluation of the Mozambican linguistic phenomenon.\"<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
