The Italian Cooperation is financing the refurbishment of the Maputo Natural History Museum, a project led by the Sapienza University of Rome, in partnership with the Eduardo Mondlane University.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n

During a visit to the site, Ambassador Gabriele Annis highlighted the importance of the museum, which houses unique scientific collections in the world. \u201cThis space needs to be preserved and valued so that future generations have access to knowledge,\u201d he said.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

The project includes structural improvements, such as ramps and elevators for people with reduced mobility, as well as accessibility resources for citizens with hearing impairments. The refurbishment also includes the creation of a caf\u00e9 and a bookstore, initiatives that will guarantee the museum\u2019s financial sustainability.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n

For the museum\u2019s director, Luc\u00edlia Chuquela, the changes represent a step forward in the democratization of knowledge. \u201cMany Mozambicans were previously excluded from this space. Now, this reality will be transformed,\u201d she said.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

The museum is scheduled to reopen in July this year, marking a new chapter in the preservation of the country's cultural and scientific heritage.<\/p>\r\n
