Maintaining a healthy diet is essential to avoid chronic diseases that could often be prevented with simple changes in eating habits.\u201d<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"text-token-text-secondary\">For Cleila, a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, greens, and carbohydrates is fundamental, as these foods make up the basis of healthy eating, especially carbohydrates, which provide energy.<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"text-token-text-secondary\">\u201cWe can\u2019t skip carbohydrates in our meals. It\u2019s important to include rice, bread, potatoes, cassava, and other foods from this group on our plates,\u201d she says. However, she points out that it\u2019s not enough to \u201ceat well\u201d occasionally; a lasting, consistent change in eating habits is necessary.<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"text-token-text-secondary\">The nutritionist warns about the excessive consumption of ultra-processed foods, which are high in sugar, salt, and saturated fats. According to her, these products are a \u201csilent epidemic\u201d: \u201cMany people don\u2019t realize the risks they\u2019re taking by frequently consuming sodas, cookies, and burgers. These foods are like ticking time bombs in the body, contributing to weight gain and increasing the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart problems.\u201d<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"text-token-text-secondary\">She explains that these foods disrupt cholesterol and blood sugar levels and warns that they are often more accessible than healthier options.<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"text-token-text-secondary\">Additionally, Cleila Macandza highlights that nutrition goes beyond physical health; it affects all areas of life. \u201cEating well is essential for overall well-being,\u201d she says, adding that consulting a specialist can help identify any potential nutrient or protein deficiencies in the body.<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"text-token-text-secondary\">According to Cleila, small dietary changes can bring immediate benefits. \u201cStart gradually, by swapping refined foods for whole grains and cutting back on salt and sugar; it already makes a big difference.\u201d<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"text-token-text-secondary\">She emphasizes that preventing chronic diseases doesn\u2019t rely solely on doctor visits or health screenings; nutrition plays a central role, even though it\u2019s often overlooked. As Cleila concludes: \u201cThe power is in our hands.
