WRITER Adelino Albano Lu\u00eds is the winner of the 2nd edition of the Mia Couto Literary Prize (PLMC), in the prose category. The author won the award with the book \u201cEst\u00f3rias Trazidas pela Ventania\u201d.<\/p>\r\n

The work of Adelino Albano Lu\u00eds stood out, according to the jury, \u201cfor its thematic richness, linguistic versatility and consistent construction of the stories\u201d. With the distinction, the author of the book \u201cEst\u00f3rias Tradas pela Ventania\u201d is entitled to the pecuniary value of 400 thousand meticais, financed by the company Cornelder de Mo\u00e7ambique.<\/p>\r\n

Adelino Albano Lu\u00eds was born in 1998, in Chimoio. Graduated in philosophy from Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) and author of the work \u2033Chronicontos da Cabe\u00e7a do Velho\u2033 (2022), Calane da Silva literary prize \u2044Alcance Editores (4th edition - 2021). It also won first place in the chronicle competition at the 1st edition of the Beira Book Fair (2021).<\/p>\r\n

For the PLMC poetry category, the jury unanimously decided not to award any of the works entered. The members of the jury for the 2nd edition of the Mia Couto Literary Prize were Louren\u00e7o do Ros\u00e1rio (president), Teresa Manjate, Ondjaki, Marcelo Panguana and T\u00e2nia Macedo.<\/p>\r\n

Also finalists were the works of prose and poetry \u201cKwashala Blues\u201d, by Jessemusse Cacinda, \u201cEst\u00f3rias Trazidas pela Ventania\u201d, by Adelino Albano Lu\u00eds, \u201cDa Asa do Vento, A Poeira do Fogo\u201d, by Rungo Novela, and \u201cAs Ancas of the Chief Comrade\u201d, by S\u00e9rgio Raimundo.<\/p>\r\n
