The Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences (FCTA) at Pedagogical University of Maputo (UP-Maputo) recently celebrated its tenth anniversary with the launch of the book \"Mozambique: A Physical Geography.\"<\/p>\r\n

Written by Aniceto dos Muchangos and Inoc\u00eancio Pereira, the book addresses the physical and geographical characteristics of Mozambique, including natural disaster risks such as \"El Ni\u00f1o\" and frequent floods.<\/p>\r\n

The launch event, held in the faculty auditorium, was attended by academics, students, government authorities, and environmental professionals.<\/p>\r\n

Inoc\u00eancio Pereira, one of the authors, emphasized the importance of the book as an essential tool for students, researchers, and policymakers. Jos\u00e9 Neves, a lecturer at UP-Maputo, highlighted the value of the book for understanding the country's natural potential, covering phytogeographical regions and biodiversity with 5,500 registered plant species.<\/p>\r\n

The event also included tributes to the faculty's lecturers, recognizing their exceptional contributions. Recognition diplomas were awarded in a ceremony attended by the honorees' families, friends, colleagues, and students.<\/p>\r\n
