A cooperation agreement aimed at fostering collaboration in areas such as science, technology, and culture was recently signed by the rectors Jorge Ferrão and Emídio Gomes of the Pedagogical University of Maputo (UP-Maputo) and the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in Vila Real, Portugal, respectively.
In addition to promoting the development of joint projects that optimize the human and material resources of both universities, the agreement will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and practices, strengthening teaching and research in areas of common interest.
Professor Jorge Ferrão emphasized UP-Maputo's commitment to achieving the objectives of the protocol, highlighting the importance of joint initiatives to improve the quality of education and the social impact of the actions carried out. Emídio Gomes, for his part, underscored the relevance of the agreement for UTAD and expressed confidence in the effectiveness of the protocol, particularly due to the excellence of Mozambican students at Portuguese universities.
UTAD, with its long-standing tradition in higher education, is recognized as a destination of excellence for students from around the world. This protocol marks an important step in expanding educational opportunities and strengthening academic relations between the two institutions.
