There are those who, even living near or within Maputo National Park, have never had the opportunity to explore it in depth. It is from this perspective that the park's managers decided to develop initiatives aimed at bringing the park to the communities.

One of the solutions found was, among others, a safari involving twenty-two students from the primary schools of Mabuluco, Ndelane, and Ngomene, in the Machangulo administrative post, Matutuíne district.
The action of the park's community development sector aimed to train students in matters related to the importance of preserving ecosystems, the role of communities in protecting natural resources, as well as good practices to ensure harmonious coexistence.
“The main objective of this initiative is to raise children's awareness of the environmental, social, and economic value of natural resources, promoting knowledge about the Park and encouraging them to become messengers of conservation in their communities,” writes the park.
The students participated in lectures, theoretical classes, and practical activities, where topics related to the importance of conserving natural resources, with a focus on plant species, were addressed.
The event added that, in addition to learning about biodiversity conservation, the students received gifts consisting of school supplies for the 2026 school year, including bags, notebooks, pens, pencils, pencil cases, sharpeners, and drawing materials.
