The Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries (MAAP) and Save the Children Mozambique (SCIMOZ) officially launched the LINK Project, aimed at strengthening climate resilience and adaptive social protection in Mozambique.
With a budget of over 28 million dollars, financed by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the LINK Project is structured to be implemented in nine districts, distributed across the provinces of Manica, Tete and Gaza.
The initiative promises to directly benefit more than 415,000 people, contributing to reducing the adverse impacts of climate change on the most vulnerable communities and promoting an integrated approach to adaptation and social protection.
During the event, participants discussed the challenges faced by the country due to climate change, presenting innovative strategies that aim to increase the resilience of communities.
The discussions emphasized the importance of decentralized planning that enables local adaptive actions, articulating measures ranging from the implementation of resilient infrastructures to the strengthening of social protection systems.
