The theme of the forum “Menstrual Health Without Barriers, Futures Without Limits,” held in Maputo and organized by Be Girl and UNFPA Mozambique, was to demonstrate that menstruation should not limit the lives, education, or well-being of girls.

Representatives from the government, civil society organizations, international partners, and private companies participated. All were united in ensuring that no young woman is harmed by a lack of information or menstrual hygiene products.
The event began with a discussion on the importance of investing in menstrual health. Experts explained that supporting this area is also supporting equality, education, and economic empowerment. They advocated for strong public policies, partnerships between institutions, and investments that yield long-term results.
Another panel discussed the importance of education and community involvement. Representatives from the Ministry of Education, UNFPA, UNICEF, and FDC highlighted the essential need to educate communities, involve schools, and create sustainable solutions so that all young women have access to the necessary information and products.
There was also a discussion on the quality of menstrual hygiene products. Participants emphasized the urgent need to define quality standards to ensure that products available on the market are safe and accessible.
In the final panel, representatives from the private sector showed how companies can help through innovation, investment, and social responsibility projects. According to them, the private sector can accelerate access to menstrual hygiene solutions, benefiting many communities.
