The Judite Justino Foundation, a non-profit Mozambican philanthropic institution founded on March 18, 2023, was officially launched this Friday at the Fernando Leite Couto Foundation in Maputo.
It is an institution that contributes to supporting and overcoming health challenges in the areas of breast cancer, mental health, drug addiction and disadvantaged children.
Its mission is to provide help, inspiration and hope to people in distress through early diagnosis, education and support services.
In this sense, it intends to develop a reception center for drug addicts and a mobile breast cancer screening clinic, in addition to already sponsoring an AacoSida Orphanage (Association of Friends of Orphaned Children of AIDS), in Matola, which houses children whose parents died from HIV/AIDS.
In the first two years after its creation, it aims to directly impact the lives of five thousand people in line with its missions, visions and values. Recently, in February, it held a blood donation campaign to support patients in the Oncology Services of the Maputo Central Hospital.
The Foundation's patron, Judite Justino, passed away on January 6, 2022, in the city of Porto, Portugal, long before she could realize her dreams and reap the rewards. She was an altruist, dynamic and tireless person; always willing to help others. She was a professor at the Maputo Commercial Institute. She had two master's degrees in International Relations and Economic Diplomacy, having impacted different countries where she practiced diplomacy during her 25-year career.
She was a member of the Mozambican delegation to the United Nations General Assembly and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conferences. Its involvement in preparing Mozambique as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council has given it robustness and professionalism.
