The school holidays have already arrived, and children have plenty of time. It's endless playtime. The truth is that with so much time at home, some parents start thinking about ways to ensure that their children engage in activities that can stimulate their development and provide good doses of fun, of course. After all, even though it's vacation time, parents and guardians still have to go to work, and it's not possible to be with the children all the time.

For many parents, the option is to rely on the help of a nanny, a housekeeper, and even grandparents. On the other hand, for many, it's easier to leave the child for hours in front of a screen, whether it be the television, computer, or cellphone. However, much is already known, and there are even several studies and experts in the field, warning about the danger of screens to the proper development of young children. In fact, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), exposure to electronic screens for any period is not recommended for children, and sedentary screen time should not exceed one hour per day for children aged two to four.

The truth is, for parents or guardians who don't know what to do and how to keep their little ones entertained, there will be a holiday camp called "Magical Dreams" taking place in Maputo at the X-HUB - Incubator for Cultural and Creative Businesses, from December 4th to December 22nd.

Before deciding on the activity for your child, let's understand what holiday camps are...

In general, it is a fun program for children and youth during the school holiday period. Enrolling your child in a holiday camp will bring new experiences for them. In addition to expanding their circle of friends, they will have recreational activities, break from the routine, learn new games, and make the most of their time in a playful way!

In Maputo, the "Magical Dreams" holiday camp is a program for children aged 6 to 10, aimed at inspiring them to undertake small actions that transform the world. It also aims to stimulate collective dreaming, a love for reading, embracing diversity, creativity, and imagination through enjoyable and playful activities.

What will the children do?

The "Magical Dreams" holiday camp will feature social/community transformation activities through the OASIS game - a game that uses Elos methodology, where a collective dream is realized in 7 enjoyable steps. Additionally, it will include cooperative games where children will have to work together to achieve a challenge satisfactorily, and, as expected, storytelling and story creation, circular dances, and much more.

Dream collectively!

The "Magical Dreams" holiday camp is a space where dreams are collectively built. Collective dreams are powerful and build more resilient, autonomous communities because there is nothing better in the world than spending holidays learning in a fun way and at the same time contributing to a better world.
