The Franco-Mozambican Cultural Centre (CCFM) in Maputo will celebrate its 30th anniversary in July 2025. To mark this important milestone, several multidisciplinary events will be held throughout the year, highlighting its history in promoting art and strengthening dialogue with French-speaking countries. The celebrations coincide with the 50th anniversary of national independence and will include shows and exhibitions that address the contemporary history of Mozambique. The programme also includes technical training in audiovisual, artistic residencies and professional mobility initiatives, as well as heritage restoration projects on the Island of Mozambique, Nampula, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC). José Queirós, director of the CCFM, revealed that one of the main focuses will be to give visibility to artists from the central and northern provinces of the country, promoting greater integration with that cultural space. The festivities will also feature the presence of artists from Portuguese-speaking African countries, which celebrate independence in the same year as Mozambique.

Opened in 1995, the CCFM has been a meeting point for cultural exchange and collaboration between Mozambique and France.
