On the evening of March 7, the Sala Grande of the Franco-Mozambican Cultural Center (CCFM) will host the seventh edition of the show "Who Said Women Can't Perform a Serenade?".

Created by Banda Kakana since 2019, the event aims to honor women and highlight the importance of art in female empowerment. Held annually in March, in celebration of International Women's Day, this year's show has the motto "Female art against oppression", encouraging reflection on the fight for equality and justice through artistic expressions.

In addition to Banda Kakana, the event will feature the participation of several women from the Mozambican artistic scene, such as Yolanda Kakana (singer), Orlanda da Conceição (singer and instrumentalist – double bass), Beauty Sitoe (singer and mbiricist), Iveth Mafundza (rapper), Iveth Vales (saxophonist), Rosália Mboa (singer), Ângela Come (cellist), Anneliese Huber (dancer), Ema de Jesus (poet) and Catarina Rombe (flautist).

As is tradition, there will also be a special tribute to a female figure in Mozambican music. Inspired by the song "Serenata", from Banda Kakana's first album, the event has established itself as a space for resistance and transformation, celebrating the art and strength of women.
