The initiative is part of the plan to build 23 schools in the province of Sofala

The Esturo Basic School, soon to be opened in Sofala province, will be the largest primary school in the country.
The result of an investment of 253 million meticais, the school will have 46 classrooms and capacity to accommodate 4,600 students in two shifts.
It is the result of an ambitious project by the Chi Tzu Mozambique Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to selfless service. The initiative is part of a plan to build 23 schools in Sofala province. The goal is to rebuild and develop communities affected by Cyclone Idai in 2019.
Since 2012, Mozambican government partners have contributed significantly to the education sector and other essential areas, focusing on promoting a more just, supportive, and resilient society.
In 2024, the country's largest secondary school, located in Mafambisse, was also completed, reinforcing the ongoing commitment to educational development.
