Writer and linguist Francelino Wilson has died

Writer, professor and language editor Francelino Wilson died in the early hours of this Saturday in the city of Porto, Portugal.

According to available information, Francelino Wilson allegedly took his own life by throwing himself from the window of the apartment where he lived. The circumstances that led to this act remain unknown.

Born on October 24, 1985, in Maputo, Francelino Wilson spent part of his childhood and youth in the city of Lichinga, Niassa province. It was in this region that he began his journey in the world of literature and communication, working as a journalist and librarian between 2004 and 2007.

He co-founded the Club of Writers and Poets Friends of Niassa, one of the first local literary movements dedicated to promoting writing and reading in the province.

With a degree in Portuguese Language Teaching from the Pedagogical University, Francelino Wilson taught at the Pedagogical University of Manica and later completed a master's degree in Linguistics at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, where he was also pursuing a doctorate in Language Sciences.

Between 2009 and 2013, he worked as a journalist and announcer for Rádio Moçambique, making a name for himself with his quality delivery and command of the language. More recently, he worked as a language editor for the arts and literature magazine "Kilimar," published by the municipality of Quelimane.
